GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The wrong-way driver who caused a head-on collision on GA 316 in Gwinnett County with another vehicle has been booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.

The accident happened near US 29 on Aug. 24.

According to Lawrenceville police, Beverly L. Wilkins, 37, of Dacula is accused of stealing 12 vials of propofol from Gwinnett Medical Center, where she was employed, prior to the wreck.

Propofol is a drug used to induce or maintain anesthesia.

Wilkins, according to police, injected two vials of the drug before she struck a car driven by Yi Shan Yang, 19, of Berkeley Lake.

Yang was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

There were four other passengers in Yang's car. They were all in their mid-to-late teens.

The rear center passenger is still in critical condition with a severe head injury.

Wilkins was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, Wilkins was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on multiple charges, including DUI, theft by taking, five counts of accident with serious bodily injury, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.

The remaining missing vials of propofol were found in Wilkins' purse and were returned to the hospital.
