FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The northbound lanes of Interstate 85 have reopened at Interstate 285 in Fulton County after they were shut down for about four hours due to a fatal wrong-way driving accident.

The driver of a pickup truck was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway shortly after 2:30 p.m. when their truck collided with another pickup truck, which was headed in the right direction.

The truck headed northbound was pulling a single-wheel trailer. Both trucks became engulfed in flames.

Det. Melissa Parker with the Fulton County Police Department said that the wrong-way driver died in the accident.

The passenger in the truck pulling a trailer was seriously injured.

Police did not say whether there were other passengers riding in the wrong-way driver's truck.

While three southbound lanes of I-85 were initially shut down, those lanes have since reopened.
