Firefighters extinguish fire on roof of Tyler Perry Studios
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The cause of a fire that happened Monday at Tyler Perry Studios in southwest Atlanta has been determined.
According to a spokesperson with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, the fire started on the roof of one of the buildings, located on Continental Colony Parkway.
The structure was undergoing roof repairs when the fire occurred. The fire was contained to the roof. No other buildings were involved.
Back in May, a fire damaged the exterior of several of the studio's buildings. A cause for that fire was never determined.
On Tuesday, the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said that the cause of the fire was due to careless smoking. No criminal charges had been filed.
