JOHNS CREEK, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
An attempt to rescue a Canada goose with an arrow through its neck failed on Sunday.
The goose has spent the summer in a neighborhood in Johns Creek. It has been swimming and waddling around with an arrow through its neck, and residents have rallied to help the goose.
A private company came to the neighborhood to catch the injured bird, but workers had to abandon their attempt. The crews needed a net gun, and the jet-powered boat they were using broke down.
On Saturday, Rebecca Sanna told CBS Atlanta News that she spotted the goose outside her home.
Sanna said that at first, she thought that the goose had something in its mouth. She later noticed that an arrow was impaled through its neck.
Sanna spoke about how the rescue attempt has pulled her residential community together.
"We are just doing everything we can to help. I am glad to know that my neighbors are involved," Sanna said.
