Investigators with the Spalding County Sheriff's Office have arrested a woman who they say defrauded people out of their tax returns.
Lisa Marie McKneely, 35, of Griffin was arrested on charges of financial identity theft, forgery, theft by deception and theft by conversion.
Investigators said there were numerous complaints from people who hired McKneely to file their 2012 tax returns.
McKneely allegedly filed the tax returns and had the money from the returns sent to her account and failed to pay her customers what was owed them.
Investigators said McKneely also used the identity of other's to make payments on her bills and converted money for her own use.
The charges resulted from a two-month-long investigation.
