COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
CBS Atlanta News reporter Bernard Watson asked a Cobb County man accused of running an illegal drug rehab facility out of his home Tough Questions about what is going on.
"How many people do you have living in this house?" Watson asked.
"We have three residents," said Kevin Weikum, the executive director of His House Residence Inc.
According to Cobb County Code Enforcement, that is against the law.
Officials say only two non-adult family members are allowed to live in a single family home. Some neighbors say they're concerned about what's going on.
"Someone in recovery could potentially relapse. We have young children and impressionable adolescence here," said Pete Isaksson, who lives near His House.
"Are these people dangerous to kids?" asked Watson.
"No. First of all, we don't allow any violent offenders into our program and we don't allow anybody who is on probation," said Weikum.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections website, Rafael Dasilva, who served time for meth, has the same address as Weikum.
"So why not your facility someplace else if people who live here don't want it here?" asked Watson.
"Well, quite frankly, it's a matter of resources," said Weikum. "We are not making any money on this. We depend on God's help."
Weikum was cited by Code Enforcement for having too many people living in the home. He is due in court Aug. 30.
