SNELLVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The woman who lost her hands, left leg and right foot to a rare flesh-eating bacteria is finally home.
Aimee Copeland is the University of West Georgia student who contracted necrotizing fasciitis after falling from a zip-line into the Little Tallapoosa River on May 1.
Copeland spent three months in an Augusta hospital before being released to a rehabilitation facility.
During Copeland's stay in rehab, Pulte Home, Home Depot and many other partners volunteered to build a $150,000 addition, called Aimee's Wing, to her parent's Snelleville home to make it more accessible to her.
On Wednesday, Copeland came home and spent her first night in the new wing.
The two-story space features a new bedroom, fitness room for rehabilitation, a study, and an elevator.
