ALPHARETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a carjacking and an armed robbery.
Each event happened separately, according to detectives.
The armed robbery took place at BeJewel on Aug. 17 at 12:49 p.m., according to police. The carjacking took place in the parking lot of a local mall on Aug. 17 at 8:40 p.m.
Alpharetta police learned Kim was involved in other violent crimes in Forsyth County and in the City of Duluth.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office fugitive squad went into Sandy Springs looking for Kim.
He was located and arrested in a joint effort with the Sandy Springs Police Department.
Kim is charged with the following:
•Hijacking of a motor vehicle - felony
•Kidnapping - felony
•Armed robbery (two counts) - felony
•Cruelty to children (carjacking victim was a juvenile 16 years old)
•Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime - felony
•Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon - felony
•Aggravated assault - felony
•Terroristic threats
