KALAMAZOO, MI (AP) -

Authorities in southwestern Michigan say FBI agents in Georgia have arrested a suspect in a 2011 killing, and he's now back in Michigan awaiting a court appearance.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said Sunday that an FBI taskforce arrested 43-year-old Samuel Steel and lodged him in the Gwinnett County, Ga., jail.

Kalamazoo public safety Capt. Julie Parsons says he waived extradition and is in the Van Buren County jail awaiting arraignment Monday.

Steel is charged with an open count of murder, attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and having a firearm during commission of a felony.

He and Harry A. Matthews II were accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Milo Conklin and wounding a 51-year-old man April 24, 2011.

Matthews was arrested in December.
