A security guard has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting Saturday in an Union City salvage yard.

Marvin Copeland, 46, has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police responded to the salvage yard located in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Highway around 8:30 a.m. Saturday and they found the body of 26-year-old Daniel Exum of Powder Springs.

Fulton County spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride said Copeland is the brother of the business owner and was working security on the property overnight.

At this time police have not yet released a motive for the shooting.
