ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Atlanta Braves will step up to the plate for this weekend's Delta Civil Rights Game.
The game is designed to pay tribute to all those who fought, on and off the field, for equal rights for all Americans.
On Friday, professors and human rights activists discussed the role baseball played in the civil rights movement and what it means to society.
The group also honored Georgia Congressman John Lewis and Dodgers legend Don Newcombe.
