DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
DeKalb County Animal Control had to put down five dogs after they fatally attacked their owner.
On Sunday, 23-year-old Rebecca Carey didn't show up for work.
Carey's employer, at Alpharetta's Loving Hands Animal Clinic, called one of her family members to go check on her, and found her dead at her home on Midway Road.
The DeKalb County police homicide unit showed up at the home, but it was later determined that Carey died from dog bites.
Of the five dogs involved in the attack, two were American Staffordshire terriers, a Presa Canarios, and a mixed-breed dog. Authorities said she was also dogsitting another Presa for a friend.
All of the dogs were taken to DeKalb County Animal Control where they were later euthanized.
