MILTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Around 2 p.m. Thursday, a man wanted in Milton was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office warrant unit.
On Tuesday night, a Milton police officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in Bridle Ridge.
While the officer was checking his ID, the man grabbed what police said looked like a gun out of his car and ran.
The ID belonged to Kennie Askew and a check of his ID showed that he had a suspended license and arrest warrants from Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
Officers from several units conducted an extensive search, but Askew was not found.
According to Fulton County Sheriff Ted Paxton, the unit's investigation led to contact with Askew's family, who had him contact deputies.
Askew agreed to turn himself in and was arrested without incident.
"Thanks to the determination and experience of our Warrant Unit, Kennie Askew is in custody. We're glad to be able to ease the minds of those living in neighborhoods involved in the search on Tuesday night, and the rest of the community," said Sheriff Paxton.
Askew is charged with obstructing law enforcement officers and driving while license suspended. He is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with bond pending and a hold placed for Cobb and Gwinnett counties, where he faces additional charges.
