ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Last summer, Pothole Harry begged CSX Railroad to fix the crossing at Whitlock Avenue near Marietta Square.
The ties were coming up, and the cracks in the pavement created a dangerous pedestrian hazard.
To the community's surprise, the railroad responded by reconstructing two other crossings off the square, but not the crossing at Whitlock.
CSX did agree to shore up the crossing and add it to a list for repairs the following year.
One year later, CSX has kept its promise. Crews have closed off Whitlock for a complete reconstruction.
