CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Cherokee Sheriff's deputies teamed up with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Tuesday night looking for wanted illegal immigrants with active arrest warrants.
A total of eight arrests were made for various violations.
One of the suspects, Edmundo Martinez, 24, of Canton, was wanted in Cherokee County for a failure to appear warrant following a possession of cocaine charge in March.
Martinez remains in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond and has an ICE hold.
The other seven suspects, although found in Cherokee County, were wanted by ICE on various charges and were taken to the Whitfield County Jail where they will remain until deported.
