ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Atlanta police are investigating a shooting where an amputee was shot in the back by another amputee early Friday.
Captain Adam Lee III said police are trying to determine motive for the shooting at a home on 7th Street SW at around 5 a.m.
The suspect then forced his sister in the home at gunpoint to take him away from the scene to an undisclosed location. She was not injured and was able to return home, police said.
Lee said the suspect was a guest in the home. The victim, believed to about 47 years old, was shot in the shoulder blade through the back of his wheelchair and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators are still looking for the 52-year-old suspect who faces assault and kidnapping charges as a result of the incident.
