DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase after gunning down a pre-med student in DeKalb County has been indicted on murder charges.
Quentric Williams is accused of shooting and killing Mitt Lenix at the Starlight Drive-In on May 15.
On Tuesday, the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office released the indictment. Williams was indicted on one count of malice murder, two counts felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, two counts fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
According to police, Lenix walked up to a truck to ask for a jump-start after the battery on his own car died.
Williams pulled out a gun and shot Lenix then drove off, leading police on a high-speed chase into Gwinnett County where he crashed, police said.
Williams ran and hid until police found him the day after.
It is unclear when Williams will appear in court.
