MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Georgia Department of Transportation has heard complaints, most of them from Pothole Harry, about the GA-400/I-85 merge.
Weather permitting, crews will begin putting in a temporary cement barrier at the merge this week.
GDOT engineers hope that the barrier will ease drivers' constant braking, illegal lane changes and improve overall traffic flow.
Last year, crews re-striped the merge, giving GA-400 southbound drivers one continuous straight through lane.
Previously, GA-400 drivers had to merge left, often bringing traffic to a crawl during rush hours.
Check out the story tonight at 11 p.m. on CBS Atlanta News.
