College Park Councilman hosts back-to-school bash at Godby Recreation Center

COLLEGE PARK, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

College Park Councilman Tracey Wyatt will host a back-to-school event at Godby Recreation Center on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

School materials, including book bags will be given away.  Free health screenings, entertainment and haircuts will also be provided.

Several groups volunteered to assist with the event, including Midway Missionary Baptist Church, located next to the Godby Recreation. The church pastors are husband-wife team Edward and Judge Penny Brown Reynolds.

Also, Positive Growth Inc., Canei Community Development Consortium and Star of Georgia #492, PRINCE HALL were enlisted to volunteer.

Councilman Tracey Wyatt will help moderate panel discussions pertaining to safe communities and healthy living. 

The Councilman was directly involved in the construction of the Godby Road Recreation Center, which officially opened in February 2012 as the first new recreation center built in College Park in the last 52 years.

The Godby Road Recreation Center is located at 2300 Godby Road in College Park.
