FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Occupy Our Homes Atlanta will stage a protest at the Peachtree Center Wells Fargo branch in downtown Atlanta Friday.
The protest will take place at 1:45 p.m. Protesters will attempt to demand that the bank rescind Edmond Steve Boudreaux's foreclosure.
Boudreaux's dispossesory hearing is scheduled for Aug.10, but he is not willing to step down, according to a release by Occupy Our Homes Atlanta.
He has pledged to keep the pressure on Wells Fargo in an active pursuit of preventing eviction later this month.
When he fell behind on his mortgage, he made multiple attempts to contact Wells Fargo. He was given only one option: To stop the foreclosure and pay what he owed in full, plus added fees, according to Boudreaux.
Boudreaux said he applied for an emergency loan modification even as Wells Fargo started foreclosure proceedings against him.
He said Wells Fargo moved forward with a foreclosure sale in June 2012.
On Friday Jay H Lawrence, a spokesperson for the bank, gave CBS Atlanta a statement on Boudreaux's situation.
"We worked with Mr. Boudreaux for more than two years to avoid foreclosure but unfortunately that took place in early June. After the foreclosure, ownership of the property returned to the investor. Wells Fargo now has no connection to the house. Foreclosure is a last resort, and since 2009 we have helped some 35,000 homeowners prevent foreclosure in Atlanta."
