DECATUR, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Andrea Sneiderman's attorneys said they were taken by surprise by her arrest Thursday.
Sneiderman's husband, Rusty, was shot and killed outside of a Dunwoody daycare. Andrea's boss, Hemy Neuman, was already convicted in his murder, but a grand jury indicted Andrea on Friday on charges of murder, attempted murder, racketeering, insurance fraud, perjury and making false statements.
Two of her attorneys, J. Tom Morgan an John Petrey, maintain that she is innocent.
"We deny it, we absolutely deny it," Petrey said. "She was not the manipulator, she has nothing to do with this. She was victimized by her husband's being murdered in cold blood by Hemy Neuman and we absolutely deny each and every one of these charges."
Her attorneys also said they were upset that Sneiderman was arrested when she would have turned herself in.
"We offered to turn Andrea in any time," said Morgan.
Morgan also said he felt the DeKalb County District Attorney was trying to tack Sneiderman onto Neuman's charges.
"Indictments are built on solid foundations of evidence, and this one will fall like a house of cards," Morgan said. "I've had just a few moments to read the indictment; there have been a lot of allegations and accusations against Mr. Neuman which have already been proven guilty, there are few accusations in this involving our client."
