ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A popular northeast Atlanta barbeque restaurant will remain closed Friday after it was seriously damaged in Thursday night's storm.

Amazingly, no one was injured at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q on DeKalb Avenue.

A tree, measuring 70 inches in diameter destroyed two dining rooms and several vehicles parked outside the restaurant, including a catering van.

Four tables full of customers were right in the path of the tree, but a good Samaritan got them to safety.

"Fortunately, someone saw it before it was going to happen," co-owner Justin Fox said. "She alerted everybody, and everybody got out right as the tree fell."

Early Friday morning, architects and engineers arrived to assess the damage. Curious onlookers snapped pictures.

"I didn't really think it did a lot of structural damage until this morning," said Jimmy Butts, who lives next door to the restaurant.

Fox said the restaurant will be closed for cleanup and repairs on Friday, but he hoped to be taking to-go orders by Saturday.
