Hajja Kennyatta Martin
COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Cobb County police have arrested the suspect whom they say killed the man whose body was found in the Chattahoochee River last week.
On Saturday, U.S. Marshals and Cobb County Fugitive Investigators found the suspect, 39-year-old Hajja Kennyatta Martin, and took him into custody.
Martin had been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the death of 39-year-old Ralph Taco McGhee.
A Cobb County Police spokesman said that McGhee's body was discovered by some fly fisherman in the Chattahoochee River near Akers Mill Road on Aug. 1.
Police said Martin and McGhee lived together in Decatur.
Martin was taken to the Cobb County jail after his arrest where he was held without bond.
The murder and assault charges were not the first run in Martin had with the law. In 2009, he was sentenced to serve two years in federal prison on a charge of assaulting and robbing a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier.
