MILTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Milton police said they are part of a multi-city police investigation into how a bag filled with credit, debit and store gift cards ended up in the parking lot of an electronics store.
A shopper found the bag on the lot of the Fry's on Webb Road, on July 27. The shopper handed it over to an employee.
Police said the stolen cards belong to seven people who are victims of identity fraud.
Police said while the stolen credit cards and wallets were found in Milton, they are from car break-ins in neighboring cities like Alphareta and Milton.
One of the victims is Randy Bagley of Norcross, who said his car was broken into that same day at a shopping center in Suwanee.
He told CBS Atlanta the crook went on a shopping spree with his credit cards.
"Target is one of the places that they had run charges, three different locations, Lowe's and Walmart," said Bagley.
Bagley said the thieves purchased about $900 in gift cards.
Bagley said he will not have to pay for the items purchased by the crooks, but said he's been terribly unconvinced.
"This has put a lot of people out, if there was that many people involved that had things stolen from them," said Bagley.
Detectives are hopeful surveillance video from parking lot cameras of Fry's will help them identify the suspects.
