Kimbrough, Hill
CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A controversial race in Clayton County is headed for a runoff. Current Sheriff Kem Kimbrough is facing off against his predecessor, Victor Hill.
Kimbrough received 42 percent of the vote to Hill's 38 percent.
Kimbrough didn't expect to be in a runoff with Hill, especially since Hill is currently fighting a 37-count criminal indictment and Hill's peace officer certification is suspended.
Kimbrough spoke to CBS Atlanta News about the runoff on Wednesday.
"I'm confident when we go into this runoff the citizens will show again that when it comes to their choice for sheriff, I'm their man," Kimbrough said.
Hill refused to comment to CBS Atlanta News about the runoff.
