Police identify Lake Acworth Beach drowning victim

ACWORTH, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Police have identified the 55-year-old man who drowned at Lake Acworth Beach on Sunday.

Rescue crews were called to South Shore Park on Ragsdale Road at about 1:40 p.m. after bystanders saw the Thomas King fall off a paddle board and disappear beneath the water's surface.

Acworth police said King had rented the paddle board and accessories from a local sporting goods store and was not wearing a life jacket.

After a 30-minute search, search crews found King's body near the shore.

King was from Marietta.
