Cherokee burglary suspects arrested

ACWORTH, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Cherokee County Sheriff's deputies nabbed a pair of burglary suspects Saturday morning.

Police had been on alert after receiving numerous reports of car thefts in the area near Kellogg Creek Road in Acworth.

Andrew Birch, 17, and Dallas Walker, 21, both of Woodstock were both arrested after a brief foot chase.

Investigators have recovered a portion of the of the stolen property and are currently looking for additional property.

Birch was charged with burglary, 9 counts of entering auto, possession of marijuana and obstruction.

Walker was charged with burglary, 9 counts of entering auto, and possession of marijuana less than ounce.

Police said this investigation continues.
