COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
When Mark Mathis first washed his 2012 F-150 three days after buying it last month, he couldn't understand how his leather seats became soaked. He soon realized there was a major leak in the rear sliding window.
Mathis took the truck back to the dealer for repair but was told there was no repair needed.
An invoice provided to Mathis by Team Ford in Marietta reads "this is deemed normal by the manufacturer and no repair attempt was made."
"I can't believe in the 21st century, it's acceptable for water to come in the windows," said Mathis.
But Ford Motor Company told CBS Atlanta News it is not acceptable. In a statement, a corporate spokeswoman said the leak is "not normal" and Ford is working with the dealership to repair the leak.
CBS Atlanta has learned other customers have complained of drippy F-150s. Ten complaints on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration details leaks from either the rear window or third brake light above it.
A manager for Team Ford's parent company told CBS Atlanta News it wants to fix Mathis' problem, but needs the automaker to provide them with a solution.
