ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The northbound lanes of I-75/85 have reopened after being shut down for more than two hours due to an accident involving a tanker truck in Atlanta.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. just south of Langford Parkway when the driver of the tanker swerved to avoid hitting a car, but overcorrected and hit a second car, according to Capt. McDaniel with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.
A spokesperson with the Georgia Department of Transportation said that the tanker, which was carrying Aluminum Sulfide, was leaking the liquid onto the highway.
About 40 gallons of the 4,400 gallons on board leaked from the tanker, but the spill was contained.
No one was hurt in the accident.
