Georgia newcomer wins $2.5M in Henry County

STOCKBRIDGE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Georgia newcomer won $2.5 million playing the instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks in the Georgia Lottery.

Joseph Burnette, who moved to Georgia earlier this month from Fredericksburg, VA, bought his lucky ticket when he stopped for gas at CITGO on Highway 138 West in Stockbridge.

"I was going for gas, and I paid for it," Burnette explained. "I didn't even get the gas. I fell down."

Burnette claimed his hefty prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

He said he plans on buying a car and a computer.
