DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A driver crashed her car into a DeKalb County apartment early Wednesday morning. The Impala came to rest in a little boy's bedroom.

It happened at the Cambridge Heights apartments off of Hillandale Road in the Lithonia area just after 3:30 a.m.

Police arrested the driver, Ciera Monae Haines, 23, for DUI.

"Everybody was screaming, ‘I'm so sorry; I'm so sorry.' But ‘sorry' wouldn't have saved my baby if he would've been here. I thank God he was not here," said Rikina Morris who lives in the damaged unit.

Morris said normally her son, 7, would have been sleeping in the bedroom the car drove through, but he was away at Grandma's.

Morris said Haines, her neighbor, had been celebrating a birthday.

"That is crazy!" exclaimed another neighbor, Sharon Cairl as she inspected the damage.

Haines was booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
