Pedestrian struck, critically injured in south Fulton County

Mark Melvin/CBS Atlanta- The vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Old National Highway early Monday remained at the scene.

FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A 20-year-old man was struck as he attempted to cross Old National Highway in south Fulton County early Monday morning.

Fulton County Detective Melissa Parker said investigators determined the man ran into northbound traffic on Old National Highway south of Dodd Road and into the path of a Lexus sedan.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Lexus was not injured.

Old National Highway was blocked for several hours during the investigation but has since re-opened.
