Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport manager answers Tough Questions

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

CBS Atlanta had Tough Questions for the managers of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

On Thursday, CBS Atlanta first reported the conditions cab drivers endure in an airport-owned building at Hartsfield-Jackson.

The building that houses the cab drivers had no air conditioning, the air intake vents were clogged with dust and the restrooms were filthy.

"It's deplorable - animals are kept better than this," frustrated cab driver Anthony Raymond said.
"They go to an animal shelter to make sure it's cleaned and these are humans."

Today the airport's general manager agreed to answer our Tough Questions.

We wanted to know: how did this happen?

"Well, we are going find out," General Manager Louis Miller said. "We are going to make sure it doesn't happen again, let me put it to you that way."

Miller promised that his maintenance crews will thoroughly clean the restrooms tonight.

The city says it will eventually build a new bullpen for cab drivers, but that could take a year.
