No arrests in attack on nanny in northwest Atlanta

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

As of Friday morning, there had been no arrests in a violent home invasion in Northwest Atlanta.

Right in front of 11-month-old Connor and Pierce King, burglars threatened to kill their nanny.

It was broad daylight, Wednesday, that the boys' mother, Kathy, said the two men wearing bandanas broke into their home on Dupont Commons Circle.

"First they jumped a 6-foot fence on a very steep hill in the backyard, and then tried to use a crowbar to break into the back door," King said.

When the crowbar didn't work, the burglars kicked through a dog door. Police said the men likely weren't expecting anyone home, but the nanny was there with the twins.

"They had a gun to my nanny's head, right between her eyes, and were threatening her life, asking her where the money was. They told her they would kill her if she didn't shut up," said King.

The children were strapped into their high-chairs during the burglary and were not harmed. On Thursday, King said they were not acting like their normal playful selves and she knows they are still upset about what happened.

"They are very clingy. I left their sight this morning to get a quick snack for them, and by the time I came back to them, they were both hysterically screaming and tears pouring down their face," King said.

The men stole several electronics before finally leaving.

Police are offering a $2,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to an arrest. That anonymous tip line is 404-577-8477.
