CARROLL COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Reba Langley, 72, cried as she talked about the death of her husband Fred Langley, 73. This time she's hurt and angry after she found out a Carroll County 911 dispatcher made a mistake.

"If they had gotten here in time he wouldn't be gone now," Reba Langley told CBS Atlanta.

Reba Langley called 911 on June 28, after her husband passed out in the driveway of their home.

Here is the transcript from that 911 call:

Operator: "Carroll County 911 do you have an emergency?"
Reba Langley: "Yes, I need an ambulance to 60 Kathy Lane, Temple, GA."
Operator: "60 Kathy Lane?"
Reba Langley: "Yes, my husband has gone into a diabetic coma."

"I called 911 then I ran and got him some orange juice, thinking it would bring his sugar back up. I waited and waited," Reba Langley said.

Reba Langley waited 10 minutes and then she called 911 again.

Operator: "Carroll County 911 do you have an emergency?"
Reba Langley: "Yes, This is Reba Langley again are they coming?"
Operator: "This is who?"
Reba Langley: "Reba Langley on 60 Kathy Lane. My husband passed out he is in a diabetic coma."

First responders didn't show up at her house until 20 minutes after she first called 911.

Reba Langley: "Do I need to take him myself to Villa Rica?"
Operator: "Ma'am that's completely up to you. They are on the way. The fire engine shouldn't be too far away."
Reba Langley: "I don't hear them. I don't hear them."

Reba Langley and her family found out in Wednesday's newspaper that Carroll County 911 made a mistake and sent the ambulance to a street in Carrollton instead of Temple.

She and her family want to know how the mistake happened.

"Was this a human error or computer error?" Reporter Tony McNary asked Cynthia Daley, Carroll County Attorney.

"From our investigation it appears to be pure human error," Daley said.

Daley said the 911 dispatcher didn't follow protocol by verifying the address and asking for a cross street.

"Is there a problem with the 911 system?" McNary asked.

"Not that I've been able to identify," Daley said.

The county fired that dispatcher. Reba Langley and her family still want to know why they were left in the dark.

"Nobody has come and apologize to us or anything," said Zina Finley, Fred Langley's daughter.

"This can't be. Somebody would let you know something like this. Somebody would let you know. To find out like this way is horrible," Reba Langley said.

"Our intent was never for them to learn it through the newspaper, never. Our hearts go out to them," Daley said.

Daley said Carroll County 911 dispatchers will undergo retraining so that a mistake like this does not happen again.
