CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The Cherokee County Fire Department said three bodies were recovered from a fire early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. at a home on Spriggs Trail, located off Yellow Creek Road, in northeastern Cherokee County.

The home belongs to Ricky Norrell, 49 and his wife, Darlene, 46. Their daughter Lindsey, 19, lived at the home with them.

Police have not confirmed these were the three people that died in the fire, however they said no one has had any contact with them and it appears likely it is them.

Neighbors reported hearing an explosion and immediately called 911.

According to Lt. Wesley Densmore, the house was already on the ground when firefighters arrived on the scene.

When firefighters extinguished the flames, the bodies were found in the rubble of the split-level home.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
