ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Before heading off to training camp, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan will help Make-A-Wish Georgia launch its special fundraising campaign.
Currently, there are more than 620 children in Georgia waiting for their wishes to be granted.
Each child is prequalified with a terminal or life-threatening disease or condition.
Make-A-Wish Georgia is seeking to raise $2.5 million to apply directly toward wish granting so the current waiting period of up to two years can be reduced.
The organization will be bringing together Atlanta area philanthropists and celebrities in a private launch celebration hosted by Coy Wire.
The event will take place Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the St. Regis Atlanta.
Ryan and his wife, Sarah, will have the opportunity to share their passion for Make-A-Wish with guests in an intimate setting.
