SANDY SPRINGS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
CBS Atlanta News is asking the Tough Questions after learning the city of Griffin's garbage pickup costs are nearly three times as high as some private companies charge.
"It's absolutely ridiculous," said Gayle Harmon, a Griffin resident. "How can they charge us so much?"
The City of Griffin charges residents $26.94 per month for garbage and yard waste removal.
CBS Atlanta News found one private company offering residents in other communities' trash and waste pick up for a mere $10 per month.
"We have no choice," said Harmon.
