When Georgia's Department of Transportation decided to realign Brandon Mill Road at Abernathy Road and Johnson Ferry Road in Sandy Springs, its intentions were good.
But the finished work created more of a problem than a solution.
When workers realigned the road, they also created a steep and dangerous slope which resulted in accidents and lots of near misses.
The neighborhood fought for a complete reconstruction. GDOT officials agreed.
