LOVEJOY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Clayton County police are looking for leads in the sexual assault of an underage girl.

Detectives said the girl was walking through the Hunters Creek neighborhood on McDonough Road in Lovejoy. It was early Thursday afternoon. She told police a man forced her into the tree line by the road and sexually assaulted her.

She told her parents who called 911. The girl's family told CBS Atlanta News she is 13 years old.

Police said they are not sure where the man lives, though the girl reported he ran to a nearby neighborhood.

Lt. Chris Windley, Clayton County Police Dept., said he thinks it's an isolated case.

"There is very minor crime in that area; It's been a long time since we were called out to any crime there," said Windley.

She was able to give a partial description of the man as 6'1," muscular and in his mid to late 20s. He had a tattoo that may be a word or name in the inside of his left arm. Police said they are working with her to develop a sketch of the suspect. They are also awaiting test results on forensic evidence.

Police said they have been canvassing the neighborhood and passing out information in reference to the case. Officers also plan to canvass the neighborhood this weekend in an attempt to generate leads.
