ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Atlanta police said Thursday they arrested a 15-year-old who reportedly robbed and kidnapped a man July 3.
Police released a photo and video of the teen who they said kidnapped a man during a home invasion and forced him to withdraw cash from an ATM machine.
The teen's parents saw the video of him and turned him in, according to reports.
The crime was brazen and violent. The suspects struck as the victims sat on their front porch on Estoria Street in the Cabbagetown neighborhood in Atlanta.
Neighbors are glad he is in custody, but are still on edge. Three other suspects are still wanted.
"I remember him wearing a black T-shirt with lettering on it," said Erich Nunn.
Nunn said on the night in question, he saw a teen carrying a TV out of a home.
Nunn said he is the same teenager police said was with a group of friends when they robbed a group of people and kidnapped one of the men.
"It's just a dumb kid doing dumb stuff, and clearly this is more serious than other stuff kids get into, and hopefully this is part of an isolated incident and not a pattern," said Nunn.
Police said the teen and several others walked onto the porch and told the people outside to give them their wallets, jewelry and phones.
According to a victim, the robbers asked how much money each had in their bank accounts.
One man had the most, so he's the one the robbers kidnapped and took to the ATM.
Stan Green lives down the street. He worries this crime might be the start of newer, more violent desperate criminals.
"It is scary, you know? This neighborhood has been turning up for a long time, but this seems like two steps backwards, and especially when you live here and my girlfriend sits out on the porch all the time, you seem a little bit scared," said Green. "At the end of the day, you are still scared and it still affects your day to day life living while you are home."
