STONE MOUNTAIN, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A large tree fell on the Jackson home on Allgood Way in Stone Mountain on Thursday.
Roger Jackson said he thought it was a clap of thunder or earthquake until he looked outside. He said the tree fell while the sky was sunny and there was no wind. He attributed the heavy rainfall in the days prior for softening up the ground and causing the tree to fall.
The tree damaged the roof and gutters and put a hole through the ceiling. It also crushed the front of Jackson's car.
Jackson said he was relieved the family has insurance and no one was injured.
