A barbershop customer was shot in the hand while trying to foil a robbery.
Corey Ashe said he was getting a haircut at A-T Barbershop on Buford Hwy in Norcross when a man, armed with a gun, tried to rob everyone.
Gwinnett County police arrested 23-year-old Brett J. Gresham.
Ashe said Gresham walked into the barbershop and asked to use the restroom.
When Gresham came out of the restroom, Ashe said he pointed a pistol at him, the barber and Ashe's wife and young son.
Ashe said when Gresham turned the gun towards his family he jumped out of the barber's chair and grabbed him.
Ashe and the barber, identified as Marcos Sandoval, wrestled with Gresham until a Gwinnett County officer arrived.
According to the incident report, that officer saw all three men fighting, he pulled his gun and ordered them to stop and put their hands up.
Ashe and Sandoval complied. Gresham took off running. The officer chased Gresham and shot him with a Taser.
While Gresham was on the ground, Ashe approached the officer and told him he was shot.
In the report the officer states, Gresham then got up and took off running again. The officer pursued him and radioed for backup.
Police said when Gresham ran into the intersection of South Peachtree Street and Buford Highway, he was struck by the front end of another officer's patrol unit.
Gresham fell to the ground and then got back up and took off running again. As he started running, an officer Tased him again. This time, the officer said Gresham fell to the ground and shouted, 'I give up, you got me.'
