ALBANY, GA (AP) -

Georgia authorities say an 11-year-old girl killed her foster mother's puppy because the woman refused to take her somewhere.

The Albany Times Union quotes authorities as saying the incident happened Sunday at a townhome where the girl was placed for care.

Trooper Mark Cepiel says the girl asked to go somewhere and the foster mother refused. The trooper says the girl later caused injuries to the dog, which died.

The puppy was a King Charles Spaniel, but Cepiel wouldn't say how it died.

The girl was charged with felony counts of criminal mischief and animal cruelty.
