DUNWOODY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
We've all been suffering through the heat these past few weeks, but Terri Teems of Dunwoody has spent the last five days with no air conditioning in her apartment.
Teems lives in the Wellesley at the Perimeter apartments, touted as "luxury apartment homes," and when CBS Atlanta's cameras went to film her home, the thermostat read 83 degrees.
"I'm paying good money and I just want a quality service," Teems said. "I don't ask for much. I mean, air conditioning in 95 degree weather, I don't think that's asking very much."
CBS Atlanta's Sonia Moghe reached out to management at the apartment complex, which switched ownership about a month ago. A representative said the complex has "addressed Ms. Teems' concerns," and that the complex has 709 residents.
Teems said maintenance workers have come by to try to fix her air conditioning several times but have not been successful and have not brought her a portable A/C unit to deal with the heat in the meantime.
"I have the doors open ... The fans stay on all day," Teems said. "There's really nothing else we can do with temperatures like this."
