ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Barry Manilow is trading concert tickets for musical instruments.
Through the Manilow Music Project, Atlanta area residents can trade a new or gently used musical instrument for a pair on concert tickets to Manilow's July 29 concert.
Manilow donated a Yamaha piano and hopes others will follow his philanthropic lead.
"I'm thrilled to be able to help bring the gift of music to these kids," states Manilow.
The primary focus of the project is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the U.S., Canada, and the UK.
The Chastain Park Amphitheater Box Office will be the base for the instrument drive in Northwest Atlanta, from now through the day of the concert.
The instrument drop off location is open between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or two hours prior to an event.
