Cary Dale Tilotta
BRASELTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Braselton police arrested two men accused of stealing plants and shrubs from an orthodontist's office in Flowery Branch.
Cary Dale Tilotta, 47, was arrested on July 2 and Steven Masters, 42, was already in jail when police charged him.
Tilotta owns Cedar Creek Landscaping based in Gainesville.
The two were caught on camera stealing the plants.
Tilotta told police he had seen the plants when he took his daughter to the orthodontists office.
According to police, he told them that he and Masters came back later when he was high on methamphetamine and took the plants.
"He has what appears to be a successful company, he's got two young kids and he's doing drugs. That's not a good example of course," said Lou Solis, Deputy Chief of the Braselton Police Dept.
Tilotta was charged with felony theft by taking and posted a $5,000 bond on the same day he was arrested.
Masters is in the Hall County Jail on an unrelated charge, but is now also charged with theft by taking.
