ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Atlanta police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed and kidnapped a man on July 3.
The victim was returned two hours later, unharmed, after the suspect took him to an ATM and forced him to withdraw cash, according to Capt. Adam Lee III.
Police released a photo and video of the suspect on Thursday.
Police arrived at the home on Estoria Street and Kirkwood Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. on a report of a home invasion and kidnapping.
Lee said five adults were sitting on the porch of the home in the Cabbagetown neighborhood when they were approached by three men with weapons.
"(The suspects) suddenly just jumped on the porch and brandished weapons and ordered each of the individuals back into the house," said Lee.
The suspects stole personal items, such as cell phones and wallets, and a television from the home, Lee said.
However, they weren't done yet.
The suspects then kidnapped a man from the home and put him into a car driven by a woman. Witnesses told police they believed the suspects were going to force the man to withdraw money from his bank account.
The victim was returned to the scene by a good Samaritan.
Lee said medics checked the man for injuries, but he was fine.
People who live and work in Cabbagetown said they couldn't believe the crime had happened.
"It's a yuppie neighborhood. Watching people go through the park, it's moms and strollers, not strung-out kids," said Kristin Davenport, who works at a coffee shop in the neighborhood.
This isn't the first time this has happened either. In nearby Candler Park, a woman was kidnapped off of her front porch in May. She escaped, but her kidnapper remains at large. Lee said police were investigating to see if the two could be connected.
