The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is searching for an 18-year-old suspected of burglarizing a local church.

According to Sheriff Ted Paxton, a warrant for burglary for Allen Michael Dyer was issued.

On Thursday, June 28 around 4 p.m., the sheriff's office received a call from individuals who had arrived to clean Friendship Baptist Church located at 2250 Friendship Circle in west Forsyth County.

The caller said a window was broken and cigarette butts were found on the floor of the sanctuary.

A laptop and some walkie talkie radios were also stolen from the church.

"Some considerable damage had been done to the church and its surrounding buildings. Investigators did an extensive canvassing of the area and talked with people from the church in order to develop a suspect," said Paxton.

The public is asked to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office at 770-781-2222 or the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 770-888-7308 if anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Dyer.
