ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds after an argument over mechanic work led to gunfire Monday night.

Atlanta Police Captain Adam Lee III said officers responded to a 911 call that two people had been shot at an home on Pryor Road in southwest Atlanta at around 10:15 p.m.

Several minutes later, dispatchers received another call from a few blocks away on Polar Rock Avenue on a gunshot victim, which investigators determined was related.

Police believe a man had gone to the home on Pryor Road to confront another man who had done mechanic work on his car. The argument escalated, guns were drawn, and the men shot each other, according to police.

The customer was shot at least twice in the chest and drove back to his parents' home on Polar Rock Avenue. The mechanic was struck in the groin, Lee said.

Both men, believed to be in their late 30s or early 40s are in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
